As an Accounting Technician / NTR Specialist your main responsibility will be the production of NTR Financial Statements and the related Corporate Income Tax Returns.  You will be involved with Corporate and Personal Income Tax Planning for our clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of NTR Financial Statements
  • Preparation of Corporate and Personal Income Tax Returns
  • Preparations of T4 and T5 slips and summaries
  • Preparation of GST / HST returns
  • On occasion, preparation of client bookkeeping using Sage Accounting or QuickBooks
  • Support of our Assurance Team on review and audit engagements

 As a successful candidate you possess:

Minimum 1-year experience in a public accounting firm supporting NTR and corporate tax files.

Additional experience in a general accounting or bookkeeping role is an asset.

Technical experience and proficiency with common accounting software packages such as QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, Account Edge, Sage, etc.

Exceptional time management, prioritization and organization skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy.

Outstanding communication skills plus an incomparable work ethic.

Strong data entry skills with high competencies in MS Word & Excel.

Experience with CaseWare.

Completion of Post-Secondary education preferred.  Candidates with their CPA designation with a focus on NTRs are preferred.

As a qualified candidate, you will have:

  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax

As Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Specialist, you will be part of our team providing full range of tax and advisory services to owner managed businesses. You will be involved in consulting with clients and reviewing various types of tax returns including but not limited to corporations, partnerships and complex individuals. Your personalized approach and entrepreneurial mindset will establish long term client relationships in this role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for Canadian-based corporations, Canadian subsidiaries of foreign-based corporations, and Canadian-based corporations with operations in foreign jurisdictions;
  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns and trust returns along with various information returns;
